From Washington to Salt Lake City

Team USA's profile says Stoddard grew up in Federal Way, Washington, and moved to Salt Lake City at 17 to train full time with the national team. Both US Speedskating and Team USA print her hometown as Tacoma, Washington. US Speedskating lists her on the Short Track National Team from 2018 through 2027, and its 2026-27 team is coached at the Utah Olympic Oval in Kearns.

Team USA lists the University of Utah as her college, and the U named her among its 2026 Olympians with ties to the university. Salt Lake Community College listed her among its current or recent students heading to the Games, in its Emergency Medical Technician program.

An Olympic first in Milan

On Feb. 20, 2026, she won bronze in the women's 1,500 meters at Milano Cortina, behind South Korea's Kim Gil-Li and Choi Min-Jeong. An NBC Olympics report published by US Speedskating called it the first time an American woman had made an Olympic 1,500m podium, and the first U.S. woman on an Olympic short track podium since 2010. She had entered the Games as the world No. 2 overall, by the same report. Read the full profile story.

World Championships and the World Tour

At the 2026 World Championships in Montreal she took 1,500m bronze in 2:31.386, finished fourth in the 500m and fifth in the 1,000m. She was second in the 2025-26 Crystal Globe standings with eight individual World Tour podiums, US Speedskating reported. At the 2024 World Championships her profile lists 1,500m bronze and 3,000m relay silver.

The 2026-27 season

US Speedskating named her to its 2026-27 Short Track National Team on July 7, 2026. She spent the summer inline skating in Mainz, Germany, and told the ISU in May that she planned to return to Salt Lake to skate from November to February before the last two World Tour stops and the World Championships in Seoul in March 2027. She is one of the athletes followed on the Utah 2034 Olympics hub.
