Weber State competes in NCAA Division I from Ogden and is a charter member of the Big Sky Conference. On July 1, 2026, Southern Utah rejoined the league it had left in 2022 and Utah Tech joined it, which made three Utah members; the Big Sky announced both moves on June 25, 2025.

The 2026 fall

Weber State football was 2-3 and 1-1 in the Big Sky after a 44-41 home loss to Portland State on September 26, 2026, in the first season under Eric Kjar, who was named head coach on December 16, 2025. Volleyball was 8-4 and 1-1 in the Big Sky, with in-state wins over Utah State and Utah Valley. Women's soccer finished non-conference play 4-5-1, and women's cross country opened with a second-place finish at the Utah State Alumni Challenge.
