Salt Lake County Sports Office

Salt Lake County Parks & Recreation runs its adult leagues and tournaments through the Sports Office at 5201 S Murray Park Lane in Murray. The county's adult sports page describes seasonal men's, women's and coed leagues at instructional, recreational and competitive levels, played throughout the valley, with registration through an online store. The Sports Office page names adult basketball and slow-pitch softball leagues directly.

Two rules matter for anyone signing up. All adult leagues require participants to be 16 or older, and 16- and 17-year-olds need a signed parental waiver. The county does not hold spots: a team is registered only once it has paid, most leagues take eight teams on a first-come, first-served basis, and rosters are capped at 20.

Players without a team have a route in. The office says it offers individual registration for some leagues and keeps an extra-player list for every sport, reached by calling 385-468-1670. Basketball divides into Recreation, Semi-Competitive (no more than two Division I or II college players per team) and Competitive. Games start between 5:45 and 10 p.m. Fees are not published on the pages read for this entry; the Fees link on the office page is the place to check.
