Why this lane matters in Utah
Salt Lake City is a home of competitive climbing
USA Climbing moved its headquarters to Salt Lake City, and the city hosts a World Climbing para climbing World Cup every spring. That pull has brought national-team climbers to Utah to live, train and study, among them Brayden Butler, the 2025 men's RP2 para climbing world champion.
Sport climbing has been on the Olympic program since Tokyo 2020, and para climbing debuts at the Los Angeles 2028 Paralympic Games with eight medal events, according to World Climbing. Not every para climbing sport class is among them, so this site names the class and the event when it reports a result.
What climbing coverage on this site looks for
Official World Climbing results and registrations, USA Climbing team announcements and releases, and the Utah climbers named in them.
