About Southern Utah Women's Soccer
Southern Utah women's soccer plays at Thunderbird Soccer Field in Cedar City under first-year head coach Steven Lindquist. It competes in NCAA Division I and, since July 1, 2026, the Big Sky Conference.
The nonconference season
Southern Utah opened with a 3-1 loss at College of Charleston on August 12, then won 1-0 at South Carolina State, Lindquist's first career win, on freshman forward Gracen Blieschke's goal. Sophia Memory scored and goalkeeper Tatum Trout kept a clean sheet in a 1-0 win at The Citadel three days later (road-trip story).
Losses at Utah and Sacramento State followed, and UC Irvine won the home opener 1-0 with an 84th-minute goal on September 3. Southern Utah beat Justice 18-0 on September 6, drew 2-2 with CSUN on September 13 and closed nonconference play with a 2-0 loss at Boise State on September 17.
What comes next
Big Sky play opens at Thunderbird Soccer Field against Montana on October 1 and Portland State on October 4. The Big Sky tournament is scheduled for November 12-15 in Missoula, Montana.
