The 2026 season so far
Utah Tech opened its first Big Sky season on August 29 with a 54-0 home loss to No. 1/1 Montana State, the defending FCS champion, and lost 63-7 at No. 14/15 BYU a week later (early-season story). At No. 2/3 Montana on September 12, the Trailblazers gained more than 400 yards in a 35-14 non-conference loss, according to Utah Tech's recap. Back home on September 19, they trailed No. 19/20 Northern Arizona 14-0 early in the second quarter and lost 35-23. A 37-13 loss at Northern Colorado on September 26 left them 0-5 overall and 0-2 in the Big Sky. Rankings are as Utah Tech's schedule lists them.
Junior Bronson Barben started the opener at quarterback, according to Utah Tech's recap, and fifth-year quarterback Deacon Hill is on the 2026 roster.
What comes next
