Utah gymnastics, the Red Rocks, competes in the Big 12 Conference and hosts meets at the Jon M. Huntsman Center in Salt Lake City. Carly Dockendorf is head coach; her contract was extended through 2031 on April 9, 2026. The program counts 10 national team titles: the 1981 AIAW championship and nine NCAA titles, in 1982, 1983, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1990, 1992, 1994 and 1995, according to Utah's 2026 media guide.
The 2026 season
Utah's schedule page lists the Red Rocks at 13-4 and 6-0 in the Big 12, counting each opponent in a multi-team meet as its own result. They won the Big 12 regular-season title and then the Big 12 Championship at the Maverik Center on March 21 with 197.675, their second straight. The season high, 198.025, came against BYU on Feb. 13, a night when Utah's 49.750 on bars was the second-highest bars score in program history, by Utah's final analysis.
At the Corvallis Regional, Utah won its second-round session on April 3 with 197.500 and then scored 197.500 again in the April 5 final, placing third behind UCLA (197.725) and Minnesota (197.625). Avery Neff, Ella Zirbes and Ana Padurariu went on to the NCAA Championships in Fort Worth as individuals, where Neff placed seventh in the all-around and fourth on floor.
Program history
Utah had appeared in a record 49 consecutive national championship meets, 43 of them NCAA, before 2026, when the team did not qualify for the first time, Utah's final analysis says. The media guide lists 32 NCAA individual champions and a team record of 198.600 against BYU on March 19, 2004.
What comes next
Utah had not published its 2027 schedule when this page was checked on Oct. 18, 2026. The Big 12 Championship stays at the Maverik Center through 2030, with the 2027 date still to be announced, and NCAA.org lists the 2027 national championships for April 15 and 17 at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas. Last season, 2026: 13-4 and 6-0 in the Big 12 as Utah's schedule page counts multi-team meets. The 2027 schedule was not yet published on Oct. 18, 2026.
