About Westminster Women's Volleyball
Westminster volleyball is in its first season under Lindsey Calvin, who was named head coach in February 2026 after a season as a volunteer assistant with the Griffins. Calvin was a four-year starter at Saint Mary's College of California, played on the FIVB Beach World Tour and professionally indoors in Switzerland and Finland, and coached at Seattle Pacific and Saint Mary's, according to the RMAC's announcement.
A hard nonconference schedule
The Griffins played eight nonconference matches away from Salt Lake City, at the Washburn Invitational and on a Texas trip, including No. 6 Washburn and No. 15 Central Oklahoma. They went 1-7, with the win a five-set match against Stanislaus State on September 4.
The RMAC so far
Westminster opened conference play at Behnken Field House with a 3-0 win over New Mexico Highlands on September 11, then lost to Adams State the next day. The Griffins were swept on the road at UCCS and No. 19 MSU Denver on September 18-19, leaving them 2-10 overall and 1-3 in the RMAC as of September 22.
RMAC coaches picked Westminster ninth of 15 in the 2026 preseason poll, with 83 points. UCCS was the favorite.
Since late September
The Griffins lost at Western Colorado in five sets on September 25, at Colorado Mesa on September 26 and at Fort Lewis on September 29, then beat Western Colorado 3-2 at Behnken Field House on October 3 in a match with 28 ties. They lost at CSU Pueblo on October 9 and at Colorado Christian on October 10, were swept at home by Colorado Mesa on October 13 and Colorado School of Mines on October 16, and lost 3-1 to Colorado Mesa in a nonconference Power Pod match in Golden, Colorado, on October 23, then were swept at Colorado School of Mines in Golden on October 24. On October 30 they lost 3-2 at Regis in Denver in a match with 32 ties, dropping the fifth set 15-10, as Elsa Gilmore had 15 kills and Ava Livolsi a match-high 22 digs. On October 31 they swept Chadron State 30-28, 25-20, 25-11 in Chadron, Nebraska, for their fourth win of the season and third in RMAC play, as Elsa Gilmore had a match-high 17 kills. They were 3-9 in the RMAC as of November 1, per Westminster's recap and schedule.
