Westminster University sponsors 13 NCAA Division II teams, all competing in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) from Salt Lake City. The university dates its intercollegiate athletics program to 1928.
Among the 11 Utah colleges Beehive Athletes covers, Westminster is the only NCAA Division II program. The rest compete in NCAA Division I or NJCAA Division I, as the state's college division guide lays out.

Westminster is an NCAA Division II member of the RMAC. The university credits its programs with nine RMAC regular-season championships and 17 NCAA championship appearances.

Club teams outside the NCAA
Westminster's men's and women's snowboard and freeski teams are coached club teams. They compete in the United States Collegiate Ski and Snowboard Association (USCSA), not the NCAA. Climbing is the third coached, university-funded club.
Student-led clubs, funded mainly by student dues, currently include free-ride ski and snowboard, mountain biking, climbing and indoor soccer.
Where do the Griffins play?
Dumke Field is home to men's and women's soccer and men's and women's lacrosse. The site opened as Dane Hansen Stadium on October 2, 1949. In fall 2005 it was rebuilt as a two-level parking structure with an artificial-turf field on top. It seats 1,200, and LED lighting was installed in September 2020.
Behnken Field House is part of an 84,500-square-foot health, wellness and athletic center completed in 2006 that houses Griffin Athletics. The field house holds 1,200 spectators beneath a suspended running track.
Sugar House Park is a 110.5-acre park on the site of the old state prison. The Griffins hosted cross country teams from Utah, Colorado and Idaho there for 5K races on September 10, 2026.
Glenmoor Golf Course in South Jordan hosted women's golf's home tournament, the Westminster Wasatch Invitational presented by Canyon View Credit Union, on September 20-21, 2026.

- Women's golf was picked second in the RMAC preseason coaches' poll, two points behind CSU Pueblo. The Griffins tied for second of 12 at the Travis Roy Memorial in Sheridan, Wyoming, then finished third of 14 at their home event. All eight golfers on the 2026-27 roster list Utah hometowns.
- Women's volleyball lost in three sets at UCCS on September 18 and at No. 19 MSU Denver on September 19. Its next road trip is Western Colorado on September 25 and Colorado Mesa on September 26.
- Men's golf finished third of 12 at its season opener in Sheridan at 9-over 873. Hayden Howell tied for fourth at 1-under.
- Men's cross country was led at the Sugar House Park home meet by Joaquin Stultz, sixth in 16:03.18.
- Women's soccer played back-to-back scoreless draws in Colorado, at MSU Denver on September 18 and at Colorado Christian on September 20.
- Men's soccer was scheduled for two home matches at Dumke Field that week: No. 13 CSU Pueblo on September 24 and No. 2 UCCS on September 27.
