Westminster Men's Basketball

Westminster men's basketball plays its home games at Behnken Field House in Salt Lake City and competes in the RMAC. The 2026-27 roster listed 19 players, 11 of them from Utah, as of September 23.

A new head coach

Westminster named Casey Stanley head coach on April 13, 2026. He came from Layton Christian Academy, where he went 66-20 as head coach and national prep program director, and he has spent 15 years on NCAA Division I staffs, according to Westminster's announcement. Those include assistant roles at UNC Wilmington under Kevin Keatts, when the Seahawks reached the NCAA tournament in 2016 and 2017, and at Iona under Rick Pitino, when the Gaels won the 2021 MAAC championship.

Where last season ended

Westminster went 12-16 overall and 7-13 in the RMAC in 2025-26, according to the official schedule, with a 9-7 record at home. In February the Griffins won three straight: 106-87 over Adams State on Senior Day, 73-68 over Colorado Mesa and 87-72 at Western Colorado. The season closed on February 28 with a 107-95 overtime loss at Chadron State.

The 2026-27 schedule

As of September 23, the official schedule opens with an exhibition at Weber State in Ogden on October 24. The regular season begins November 9 at Montana State Billings, and the first home game is November 24 against Northwest Nazarene at Behnken Field House. RMAC play begins December 3 at South Dakota Mines, and the first conference home game is December 10 against UCCS. Two more exhibitions follow, at UNLV on December 29 and at Utah State on December 31. The RMAC tournament begins with quarterfinals on March 2.
