Westminster Women's Basketball

Westminster women's basketball plays its home games at Behnken Field House in Salt Lake City and competes in the RMAC. The 2026-27 roster listed 13 players, eight of them from Utah, as of September 23.

A new head coach

Westminster named Lynette Schroeder head coach on April 23, 2026. She went 124-45 in six seasons at Southern Virginia University, where her teams won four USA South Conference tournament titles and reached four NCAA Division III tournaments, according to Westminster's announcement. Schroeder was a Westminster assistant in 2018-19, when the Griffins went 21-9 and earned the program's first NCAA tournament berth. Before coaching in college, she led Skyline High School in Salt Lake City to the 2017 4A state championship.

Where last season ended

Westminster went 9-17 overall and 6-14 in the RMAC in 2025-26, according to the official schedule. The Griffins closed the regular season on February 28 with a 73-68 win at Chadron State.

In March, guard Ellie Mitchell of Springville was named to the 2025-26 First Team Academic All-RMAC. A nursing major with a 4.00 GPA, she averaged 13.6 points a game, the official announcement said. Eight more Griffins made the RMAC academic honor roll, and Westminster's nine honorees tied for the most of any school in the conference. Mitchell is listed as a senior on the 2026-27 roster.

The 2026-27 schedule

As of September 23, the official schedule opens with two exhibitions in Logan, at Utah State on November 2 and against Weber State on November 3, then a third at Idaho State on November 6. The first home games are against St. Edward's on November 19 and Cal Poly Humboldt on November 21 at Behnken Field House. RMAC play begins December 3 at South Dakota Mines, and the first conference home game is December 10 against UCCS. The RMAC tournament begins with quarterfinals on March 2.
