Mary Bocock, an alpine ski racer from Salt Lake City, was named to the A team of the 2026-27 Stifel U.S. Alpine Ski Team on Oct. 7, 2026, after a season in which she made her Olympic debut at Milano Cortina and posted a career-best World Cup result.
She is listed first among the A team women in U.S. Ski & Snowboard's announcement: "Mary Bocock (Salt Lake City, UT; Rowmark Ski Academy; Dartmouth College)". Her younger sister, Elisabeth Bocock, is on the B team with the same hometown, club and college.
"This season has been an absolute dream. I didn't even think I would be here," she told U.S. Ski & Snowboard in March.
Raised in Salt Lake City
U.S. Ski & Snowboard prints her hometown as Salt Lake City, Utah. KSL reported in January 2026 that she grew up in the heart of Salt Lake City and graduated from Rowland Hall, where she skied for Rowmark Ski Academy. Her U.S. Ski & Snowboard biography says she was named Rowmark's skier of the year after her first and second FIS seasons, played on Rowland Hall's state championship soccer team as a freshman and a junior, and served on the headmaster's committee. It lists Snowbird as her favorite ski area.
"I'm from Salt Lake City," she told KSL in an interview in the fall of 2025. She remembered racing at Snowbasin as a kid: "Sometimes we'd have races at Snowbasin and we'd go to the start of the Olympic speed races."
She was looking further ahead, too. "It's awesome, especially now knowing that the 2034 Olympics are going to be here," she said.
Dartmouth's 2023-24 ski roster listed her as a first-year alpine skier from Salt Lake City and Rowmark. U.S. Ski & Snowboard counts six years on the national team for her, since 2022.
NorAm champion
Bocock's breakthrough title came on the NorAm Cup, North America's continental circuit. She won the 2022-23 overall title with 883 points and the super-G title, and was third in giant slalom, FIS standings show. U.S. Ski & Snowboard bills her as the 2023 NorAm overall champion.
She kept winning there. FIS results show NorAm downhill and super-G wins at Sugarloaf, Maine, in March 2025 and two super-G wins at Copper Mountain, Colorado, on Dec. 8, 2025.
At the 2023 Junior World Championships in St. Anton, Austria, she placed fifth in the team parallel event, and at the 2024 edition in Châtel, France, she was 20th in both downhill and super-G and ninth in the team combined, by FIS results. On the NorAm she was fourth overall in 2024-25.
Olympic debut
Bocock made her World Cup debut in the Sölden giant slalom in October 2023, racing alongside her sister, her U.S. Ski & Snowboard biography says. FIS results show her first World Cup points in the 2025-26 season, the winter she made the Olympic team.
At Milano Cortina 2026 she started the super-G at Cortina on Feb. 12, 2026. U.S. Ski & Snowboard reported that the course "proved difficult for many racers, including Team USA's Breezy Johnson and Mary Bocock," and that Bocock "was all smiles as she made her Olympic debut with family in the stands." She did not finish, FIS records show.
A career best at Soldeu
Less than three weeks later she produced her best World Cup result. At Soldeu, Andorra, on March 1, 2026, she was 11th in a super-G, which U.S. Ski & Snowboard called a career-best World Cup result; she had been 17th in the super-G at the same venue the day before. She had also placed 15th in the Crans Montana super-G on Jan. 31 and 18th at St. Moritz in December.
"I am super excited," she told U.S. Ski & Snowboard after Soldeu.
She qualified for her first World Cup Finals and finished 20th in the super-G in Norway on March 22, 2026. She finished the season 24th in the World Cup super-G standings with 74 points, by FIS. At the U.S. Championships at Vail at the end of March, she was second in giant slalom.
The 2026-27 season
The FIS calendar brings the women's speed World Cup to North America at Beaver Creek, Colorado, on Dec. 9-13, 2026, and the season closes with the World Cup Finals at Sun Valley, Idaho, on March 18-25, 2027. The World Championships are in Crans Montana, Switzerland, on Feb. 1-14, 2027, per U.S. Ski & Snowboard's team announcement.
She is one of the Utah athletes followed on the Utah 2034 Olympics hub, the Games she said she was excited to see come to her home state.
