Salt Lake Community College women's soccer plays at the Zions Bank Training Center in Herriman under head coach Amy Lepeilbet. It competes in NJCAA Division I and the Scenic West Athletic Conference, and the conference's standings had it first on September 24.
Unbeaten through eight
SLCC opened with a 4-0 win over No. 14 Laramie County in Murray on August 22, won its first four matches, drew 1-1 at No. 20 Snow College on September 10, and won the next three (rankings as SLCC's recaps stated them). The Bruins conceded five goals in those eight matches and never more than one in a game.
Seanna Harris, a sophomore from Chandler, Arizona, led the team with six goals after September 17 and scored twice more against CSI on September 19. Natalie Shober of Herriman led in assists with four. Against CSI the Bruins fell behind in the 17th minute, then won 3-1 with Harris's 68th-minute penalty, a 77th-minute goal from Keagan Grange and a second from Harris.
What comes next
SLCC plays at Pacific Northwest Christian College on September 24 and at North Idaho on September 26, then hosts USU Eastern on October 3. Snow College visits Herriman on October 15. The Region 18 tournament is scheduled for October 29-31.
A Utah roster
Twenty-three of the 27 players list Utah hometowns. Three came from Ridgeline in Millville (Ila Webb, Keagan Grange and Kenley Parkinson), two from Skyridge in Lehi (Leah and Kate Scoville) and two from Mountain Ridge in Herriman (Jayla McFarland and Shober). The rest of the roster is from Fukuoka and Osaka in Japan, Chandler, Arizona, and Rio Rancho, New Mexico.
